Sole is an abstract adventure game where you play as the only source of light in a world shrouded in darkness. Wander through uninhabited environments, painting the land with light as you uncover its mysterious past. Explore the remnants of great cities and discover the history of an ancient civilization on your journey to restore life to an abandoned world.
Originally conceived as an ambitious side-project by a group of bright-eyed university undergrads, Sole began as an experimental mobile game inspired by our emotional experiences as new artists and creators. Driven by our love of abstract narrative exploration games and a desire to push the boundaries of artistry in mobile gaming, we began working through an extensive 2-year prototyping phase before settling on a final direction for the game’s narrative and gameplay design.
In the Summer of 2017, we ran a successful Kickstarter campaign and raised over $16,000 to finish the game. Thanks to the help from 268 backers, Sole is slated for a 2018 release for desktop, console, and mobile platforms.
